Sorry about the long span in time between tutorials! A lot has been going on so they've been put on the back burner. I'll get to the next one soon. =)
Drawing Feet (and Shoes!) Tutorial by DianetheKraus
Drawing Feet (and Shoes!) Tutorial
I don't know what people have more trouble with - feet or shoes. For me it was always shoes, so I did a bit about shoes.

Feet are easier than hands once you get the basic shape down, since they don't move as much or have so many... long moveable bits.  It's like the difference between drawing an octopus and a squid. Squid is always easier. /cephalopod love

They still take some time to get familiar with though so draw some feets!!!

You can attach them to some legs Drawing Legs Tutorial by DianetheKraus or whatever. Lots more figure drawing tutorials in my gallery and on my website dianekraus.com or get them with a side of cat gifs and sketches on my tumblr, dianekraus.tumblr.com

Thanks for watching!

Torso Studies by DianetheKraus
Torso Studies
Doing some anatomy brush-up work, especially keeping an eye out for where the ab muscles fall in relation to the ribcage, and the male and female differences.

Endlessly thankful to all the folks on Tumblr who post pics of their lovely abs!

You can find my torso tutorial among many others in my Tutorials gallery or by checking out my website, dianekraus.com . =)

I just made a little gesture drawing video, which ended up being 17 minutes of me referring to a lot of stuff from my tutorials. Eh, "little" is relative, right? I may do more!

So I'm still in a bit of a haze of disbelief about my Drawing Clothing Tutorial being a Daily Deviation yesterday.

I kind of woke with a groan yesterday morning and immediately thought about going back to sleep (it was Sunday, after all.) But I saw it was 6:27AM, three minutes before I usually get up, so I said, argh, I'll just stay awake. Might as well look at the Internet for a few minutes, as usual. Ho-hum. I happened to check my DA messages before I usually do and saw 149 up by my user name. Wtf, a lot of cat pictures maybe?  Then I'm scrolling down and see the comments and it dawns on me... I have a Daily Deviation. I HAVE A DAILY DEVIATION.

I don't know if there's any member here who doesn't have little fantasies about that moment. I've been hanging around posting artz for about 6 years now (I had a couple little accounts before this one) and always wondered WHAT and IF and HOW and WHEN and MAYBE. And sometimes those questions drive us to put a little more polish on our work, to care a little more. But at the same time, you never expect it to actually happen. I was absolutely overcome with a ridiculous amount of emotion and sat there in my pajamas weeping at my iPad for about 5 minutes or so until my fingers got too cold.

So THANK YOU DeviantArt, for touching my little corner of the website here with your little DD heart. I am most honored and very grateful.

And I'm very glad it was a tutorial, too, because I think one of the most wonderful things about DA is how the community encourages and supports learning and progressing in art. It's not just a place to showcase what you do - it's a place to connect and learn, and I've gotten more satisfaction through making and posting those tutorials than anything else. I do love making art for people, but there's something more wonderful about helping people make their OWN art. Opening up possibilities, unlocking potential. Anything is possible. Even DD's someday.

Anyway.

A warm welcome to all the new watchers and thanks to everyone who favorited and for the new llamas and everything.  I've been really busy but I'm hoping to get a Foot Tutorial up soon and I've been doing some really exciting work with rhythms that I'd like to get into tutorial format someday, too. So more to come soon, and who knows what else in the future.

Cheers. =)
